INTROVERTED FEELING Introverted
feelers are idealistic, genuine, loyal and devoted. They possess a wealth
of warmth and enthusiasm, but may have difficulty showing it until they
are comfortable in the relationship or situation. They base judgements
on whether something has personal value to them or those they care about.
Introverted feeling is concerned with the values of the inner person,
with things that are felt but are not easily expressed. Since our languages
are made up of thinking terms rather than feeling terms, it can be difficult
for feeling types to express themselves. That is especially true of
an introverted feeler because the inner self is an unseen (by others)
world. Because expressing themselves is often difficult, introverted
feelers may retreat into a world of their own. They have great contributions
to make to the world if they can learn to communicate their thoughts,
feelings and perceptions, which often have great depth and go way beyond
the obvious. Introverted feeling is similar to introverted thinking,
except here everything is felt rather than thought. Still waters
run deep aptly describes an introverted feeler. They have very
intense feelings, but they seldom let them show. Introverted feelers,
like introverted thinkers, are hard for others to understand. They can
appear silent, inaccessible, moody or indifferent. An air of profound
indifference is sometimes adopted as a means of defense. The demeanor
is usually reserved and soft. When
supported by sensing (fsIT; R/R), they tend to have a keen ability
to see the needs of the moment, and they try to meet them. They are
adaptable and very capable, but tend to underestimate themselves. They
find it very difficult to "toot their own horn", and may be
overlooked at times. When
supported by intuition (fiST; R/E), they tend to have a keen sense
of imagination and insight. They often have a gift for communication,
but tend to be rather shy until they know someone well. They are often
more comfortable with written, rather than spoken, words and may gravitate
toward literature or poetry. They excel in areas that deal with human
possibilities. |
